Preparation for sugaring of the intimate area, i.e. brass

How to prepare for sugaring? 😎

Women's brassiere, i.e. sugaring of the intimate area, is an effective and long-lasting hair removal method in which the hairs are removed by the roots. To make the sugaring experience as pleasant as possible and the end result long-lasting, here are HejBuddy's tips for preparing for the perfect sugaring - in fact, almost all of these tips are useful for all sugaring and not just brass, so keep reading!

1. The first sugaring - pinching will decrease in the future 1️⃣

Sugaring the intimate area can feel a little more painful, especially the first time, because a) you don't know what to expect and b) the hair is often thicker and more tightly attached to the root than a hair that has already been sugared. If you follow the sugaring maintenance interval, i.e. 3–6 weeks, the coat will thin out and the next sugaring sessions will already feel significantly more pleasant. The skin will remain smooth after the first time for 2-3 weeks, but in the future the maintenance interval is recommended to be around 4 weeks, but you can get case-specific instructions for this at our studio - or if you are thinking of doing brass sugaring at home, follow the hair growth cycle and you will know your own "maintenance interval".

2. Hair length for sugaring - ideally 0.5–3 cm ✂️

In terms of the sugaring result, it is important that the hairs are long enough so that the sugaring mass sticks to them properly. When sugaring for the first time (whether it was sugaring at home or sugaring at HejBuddy's studio) the ideal length is 0.5–3 cm. However, so that you don't have to fiddle with the measuring tape, a good tip is that when you catch the hair with your fingernails, it is very easy to sugar.

A good growing period after shearing is about 2 weeks, during which the desired hair length is reached. Longer hairs should be cut shorter.

3. Exfoliation and moisturizing before sugaring 🧽

Exfoliation is usually the skin's best friend between sugaring. Oil-based peels in particular should be avoided just before sugaring. Why the hell? Oily exfoliation and/or thick moisturizer create a film on the skin and over the hair, so the sugar mass does not stick to the hair as effectively. Even if you have not used sugaring before using oil-based products, the skin should always be cleaned before starting sugaring to ensure an optimal adhesion surface for the sugar mass.

4. Careful washing and preparation 🚿

Before sugaring, wash the intimate area carefully with a soap-free cleanser or lukewarm water. Washing the intimate area also covers the mucous membranes and around the anus. All of our HejBuddy studios have toilets with bidets.

If you are menstruating during sugaring, menses are not an obstacle to sugaring, but use a tampon or menstrual cup to increase comfort and hygiene - this way sugaring goes smoothly even during menses!💖

5. Choose a bikini line or a full bra? 👙

When it comes to sugaring the intimate area, you can choose to clean up the bikini line, a deeper 'string-style' bikini line or the entire Brazilian sugaring at HejBuddy's studio. In Brazilian waxing, all hair is removed from the intimate area, but if you wish, you can leave a small "runway" or the amount of hair you choose on the pubic mound.

6. Relax and let go of shame (must remind you of this!)🧘🏼‍♀️

When sugaring the brassiere or intimate area, it is easiest to go completely without underwear, which speeds up the sugaring and makes it as comfortable and painless as possible. Of course, you can also use your own underwear, but it can make sugaring more difficult, bringing an extra step when lifting and moving the underwear. We see all kinds of hairs every day, so there's no need to be ashamed or think if you dare to take off your pants - we're at the studio to remove the hair that's bothering you.

A total of 15–30 minutes is reserved for sugaring the intimate area, and for a sugarist (sugarista💖), hair is just hair - there is no need to be shy.

Memo list:

  • Let it grow for a couple of weeks after shearing, about 0.5-3cm is good
  • Peel with an oil-free product about a day before sugaring
  • Pikkirats in veks brassiere - remember to relax, no need to be shy💕
